What is a Heat Headache?
A heat headache is a type of headache that is caused by the body overheating. This can happen when you are feeling hot and sweaty, or when the air temperature is very high. Heat headaches often feel like pressure on the forehead and temples, and they may also cause nausea or lightheadedness. They can be very uncomfortable and can last for hours.
Causes of a Heat Headache
A heat headache is a type of headache that occurs when the head gets too hot. The most common cause of a heat headache is overheating. Other causes include:
Exposure to high temperatures, such as from the sun or a hot oven
Having a fever
Stuffy nose and/or congestion from allergies or the common cold
Headache due to anemia (low blood count)

Avoid caffeine and alcohol: Both caffeinated and alcoholic beverages contain dehydrating agents and can worsen headache pain. If you do drink alcohol, try to stick to moderate amounts.
Stay cool: In order to avoid heat-related headaches, try to stay cool indoors where possible. Avoid direct sunlight if possible and wear loose clothing that will allow air circulation.
